Freudian slip? Duterte mixes up names again: Ul*l na Nograles na yan… ay Trillanes!

For the second time in a week, President Rodrigo Duterte mixed up names of two people– and may have unwittingly shown an old grudge he had against a rival.

In an interview aired over state-run PTV-4 Friday (September 29), Duterte accused the Office of the Ombudsman of launching investigations on politikos on flimsy bases such as published reports and allegations.

“So pasok kayo ng pasok. Please answer this story. Eh alam mo kaming mga pulitiko, isang katutak, isa na ‘yang u*** na Nograles na ‘yan — ay si Trillanes. Kung anong pinagsasabi,” he said.

Former House Speaker Prospero Nograles was Duterte’s long-time political rival in Davao City. They were at odds for several years but has since mended ties in the run-up to the 2016 elections.

Trillanes, meanwhile, has accused Duterte of amassing ill-gotten wealth. He has also tagged the President’s son, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, in illegal activities such as smuggling.

In a speech at the Department of Justice’s 120th anniversary on September 26, Duterte mentioned actor Gabby Concepcion in a rant against ABS-CBN Chief Executive Officer Gabby Lopez.

“Sino naka-p****** i** ninyong lahat. Ikaw? Gabby Concepcion, mukha kang pera, p****** i** ka. Eh totoo man,” he said.
