Vice President Leni Robredo is a certified bookworm.
Robredo’s book collection ranged from fiction to non-fiction titles. Her latest passion? She enjoys reading non-fiction books, including those written by former US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
“My taste has evolved over the years,” she said about her collection of books.
“All throughout high school, college, and law school, I was so into thrillers, espionage, and I have a room full of James Patterson, Robert Ludlum, John Grisham, Tom Clancy, Ken Follet, Dan Brown, Patricia Cornwell,” she said.
Robredo’s taste in books changed n her late 30s.
“When I was in my late 30s until my mid 40s, I was into Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende, Arundhati Roy. After Jesse died, I gravitated towards lighter reads. I am more into non-fiction now,” she said.
She posted a screenshot of her latest books, including those given to her as presents. One of her prized titles is “Promises to Keep” a memoir written by new US President Joe Biden.
“Posting a few photos of what I have with me now, here at home. Some, I received as gifts. The others I bought. I will not include yet my Filipiniana books and those I have in the office. That will be in another post,” she said.
Robredo admitted that she lacks space for all her books. She dreams of having her own mini library.
“My books are all over. I do not have the space to keep them all in one place, which is really my dream,” she said.
