From Vegas to Pinas! Pacquiao to take private plane after Thurman fight to attend SONA
Unlike in previous fights, Senator Manny Pacquiao doesn’t have plans of cooling his heels in Las Vegas, Nevada or any other part of the United States after he faces off with American boxer Keith Thurman in the ring Sunday (July 21).
A source told Politiko that Pacquiao will take a private plane right after his fight to attend the opening of the 18th Congress at the Senate and President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), both of which will happen Monday (July 22).
Politiko’s source said the private plane will be on standby at the McCarran International Airport Sunday so Pacquiao can leave any time he wishes.
Online flight duration calculators, the fastest direct commercial flight from Las Vegas to Manila takes 18 hours.
Politiko’s source, however, said Pacquiao can arrive in Manila in just 13 hours via private plane.
The inaugural session of the 18th Congress will formally start at the Senate at 9 a.m. while Duterte will deliver his SONA at 4 p.m.
Given Pacquiao’s stamina, he can surely withstand the abrupt change in time zones and will appear as fresh as if he never left– if he makes it to either the start of session or the President’s speech.
