Like several netizens, Far Eastern University Institute of Law dean Mel Sta. Maria cannot help but be amused at the cover page of the Office of the Solicitor General’s comment on the drug trading case filed by the Department of Justice against Senator Leila de Lima.
In a Facebook post, Sta. Maria said the cover page, which featured the word “comment” in huge, bold letters, “surely” violates the “Efficient Use of Paper Rule” promulgated by the Supreme Court.
“14-size font is the requirement. Mukhang 24-size ito. Bold pa, may title pa! Certainly, it covered unnecessarily paper space,” he quipped.
Sta. Maria then posed a rhetorical question on why he finds the document so funny.
“Ganito na ba ang rule sa solgen. Baka next time may photo na,” he said.
The creative layout of the OSG’s comment on De Lima’s case has not escaped netizens’ attention, with some making variations of its appearance on made-up documents using Word Art.
