Neophyte Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go appears to have no qualms dipping his hands jnto the affairs of the other branch of Congress.
A Politiko source claimed the former Special Assistant to the President has been burning the lines to tell majority of the House members to heed 15-21 term-sharing between Taguig Rep. Alan Cayetano and Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco speakership suggested by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte himself.
Through personal calls and text messages, Politiko learned that Go wanted to make sure that Cayetano would get majority vote during the opening of the 18th Congress on July 22.
The alleged text message from Go stated: “Malacanang reiterates PRRDs endorsement of the 1521 term sharing. For confirmation, kindly call Sen. Bong Go.”
“We likewise remind everyone of our agreement to 1. Vote as a block and 2. Vote on what PRRD states and endorses. (1521 term sharing),” it added.
Go reportedly had to make these last-minute calls and text messages amid fears that congressmen would ditch Cayetano after the President declared that his endorsement for the term-sharing dela was not cast in stone.
Go and members of the Duterte’s economic cluster are the main backers of Cayetano.
