Getting ready for battle! AFP confirms Mocha Uson soon to be an Army reservist
PCOO Assistant secretary Mocha Uson will soon add another title to her resume: an Army reservist.
An official of the Armed Forces of the Philippines revealed Friday (July 28) Uson’s plan to become a reservist in response to the allegation she was not qualified to wear a military uniform.
In a press conference in Malacanang, AFP spokesperson Brigadier General Restituto Padilla clarified that Uson has not been wearing a military uniform in the instances she was photographed in what looked like a soldier’s camouflage attire.
“She was wearing a — she was wearing a — I think one that can be bought commercially. And for your information, Asec. Mocha is in the process of being a reservist,” he said.
Uson confirmed Padilla’s statement in a Facebook post.
“[M]atagal na po naka-process ang aking papel bilang Army reservist,” she said.
The allowable instances where a military uniform can be worn has become a hot topic after the AFP said it was considering filing charges against comedian Mae Paner, also known as Juana Change, for wearing one during a protest against President Rodrigo Duterte.
The military later dropped its plan against Paner.
