Gone for good: Palace says Jason Aquino no longer NFA chief

Jason Aquino is no longer the administrator of the National Food Authority (NFA).
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. made this clarification after Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol said that Aquino is still the NFA chief until Army chief Lieutenant General Rolando Bautista takes over in October.
“Tapos na po ang isyu na ‘yan. I had a talk with (Special Assistant to the President) Bong Go last night and that issue has been settled. He no longer is NFA (administrator),” Roque said in a press briefing.
“I sought clarification and I was given clarification, tapos na po ‘yan,” he also said.
Early this month, President Rodrigo Duterte said that Aquino asked to be relieved from his post.
The embattled NFA administrator told him he was already “tired,” said Duterte in a televised interview with Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo.
