The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) has been reminded to ensure accurate and fair reporting of programs and other news on the state television.
Senator Richard Gordon said the People’s Television (PTV-4), a state corporation supervised by the PCOO, should not just be categorised as pro-administration, citing its duty to report all sides and keep the people well-informed.
“We are facing issues left and right, PCOO should give accurate answers to the public. WE NEED TO GET THE NEWS OUT,’ he tweeted during the Senate hearing on the PCOO budget.
“You should welcome both sides and not be categorized as pro-admin only. We need our people to be well-informed. #PCOOBudget,” he added.
He said the PCOO has the “great opportunity to change the mindset and win the heart of the people.”
“The best accomplishment is when people start believing in you. #PCOOBudge,” he added.

You have the PEOPLE’S TV (PTV). Dapat para sa tao ang mga programa niyo. Identify the problems and address them. #PCOOBudget

Information goes both ways. You don’t just dispense information. You also need to reach even the most far-flung areas in the country like in Mindanao. #PCOOBudget

PCOO should constantly inform the public what the government is doing for them and also what people can do for our country.

Do not forget your role. #PCOOBudget
