The national government lifted on Tuesday the temporary suspension of inbound travel of returning residents in Region 6.

Malacañang confirmed that the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases already allowed the return of locally stranded individuals from the provinces of Guimaras, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Antique.

“We confirm that the temporary suspension of inbound travel of returning residents in Region VI composed of Iloilo City and the provinces of Guimaras, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Antique has already been lifted,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement Wednesday.

Roque also underscored that any requests for the imposition, extension, and lifting of moratorium of local government units (LGUs) will be decided by the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force and will be enforced by the National Task Force.

“This is to ensure that the proper process is followed by LGUs,” he concluded.
