Government OKs expansion of COVID testing to asymptomatic patients

The government will expand its coronavirus (Covid-19) testing to include people showing no symptoms, Malacañang said, adding that this will fully utilize the 10 million test kits procured by the Department of Budget and Management and the Department of Health (DOH).
The National Task Force against Covid-19 and the DOH will soon issue the protocols for Covid-19 testing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Friday.
Earlier, Vince Dizon, deputy chief implementer of the national policy on Covid-19, said the government has conducted over 600,000 Covid-19 tests and aims to target 1 million tests within July.
