Gov’t bans dine-in canteens, common smoking areas in MECQ areas

Malacañang has announced new health protocols in workplaces under modified enhanced community quarantine.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Tuesday said that dine-in canteens and common smoking areas are now prohibited in the workplace.

Workers, however, will be allowed to bring packed food or food deliveries, Roque said during his online press briefing in Davao City.

Private industries must also adhere to the following protocols:

-Shuttle service provision for bigger companies

-No removal of mask and shields inside shuttle

-Use of face mask/shield when confined inside a room with more than one person and during meetings

-Frequent hand washing and disinfection of areas

-Getting temperature of workers and guests; and

-Designation of health protocol officers and formation of Occupational Safety and Health Protocol Committee to ensure strict compliance of protocols per company.
