Tourists going to Boracay are now required to have a negative RT-PCR test 72 hours prior to their travel to the famous tourist spot.

Earlier, Boracay-bound travelers must a negative result within 48 hours before traveling to the island.

Malacañang on Friday said the new policy was contained in Resolution 74 of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.

“Kung dati po lahat ng mga turista ng Boracay ay kinakailangan magpa RT-PCR test 48 hours prior to arrival, ngayon po ginawang 72 hours prior to their date of travel,” Roque said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

“So, pinahabaan po yung period kung kelan pupuwedeng magpakuha ng PCR test bago bumyahe patungong Boracay,” he added.

Last October 1, Boracay reopened to tourists from areas under general community quarantine, after months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
