A total of 163 Filipinos from Macau have arrived safely in the Philippines, Malacañang confirmed.
The chartered Air Macau flight carrying the Filipino repatriates landed in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Saturday afternoon, according to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
“[W]e thank the authorities of Macau, in close coordination with the Philippine Consulate General in the aforesaid Special Administrative Region, for arranging this repatriation flight,” Panelo also said.
The Palace official reiterated that the Philippines government “remains “ready” and is prepared” to protect Filipinos here and abroad as coronavirus continues to spread.
The Philippines has recorded six confirmed cases of the virus, forcing President Rodrigo Duterte to declare a state of public health emergency.
