Guevarra doesn’t care about POGO hubs’ locations: No problem as long as Chinese follow laws
By Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra believes there is no need to be alarmed where Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) are located.
Guevarra responded to concerns aired by Defence Secretary Delfin Lorenzana that many POGO centers are located new military bases in the country.
Lorenzana pointed out POGOs located near military bases could be used by China as spying facilities.
“As long as the Chinese strictly obey our laws and ordinances and respect our customs and traditions, and do not take away jobs that Filipinos themselves can do, I am not alarmed at all,” Guevarra said.
With this, he doused concerns over the influx of Chinese in the country, many of whom work in POGOs.
“Our own countrymen migrate by the hundreds of thousands to other countries, but no one has expressed any serious concern at all,” he reminded.
