Guevarra orders NBI to probe alleged entry of foreign terrorists into PH

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Tuesday (August 13) has issued an order directing the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to verify reports of concerning the entry of foreign terrorists who intend to conduct attacks in Northern Luzon.
In a department order he issued, Guevarra told the NBI “to conduct an investigation and case build-up on the alleged entry into the country of foreign terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and other violent extremist groups, and their alleged plan to conduct terror attacks in Norther Luzon.”
He also instructed the NBI that “if evidence warrants, to file the appropriate charges against persons found responsible therefor.”
Recently, President Rodrigo expressed concerns of possible ISIS attacks in Northern Luzon.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has already tightened security in Pangasinan following reports of possible attacks in places of worship in the province.
