Guilty as hell: Drug raps filed vs. De Lima, 7 others
The Victims Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) has filed drug raps against Senator Leila De Lima and seven others regarding the proliferation of illegal drugs at the national penitentiary.
“Let the DOJ complete this investigation because kami in VACC will not wait,” said VACC head Dante Jimenez.
Aside from De Lima, those included in the complaint filed before the Department of Justice (DOJ) are former Justice Undersecretary Francisco Baraan III, former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director Franklin Jesus Bucayu, her former aide Joenel Sanchez, her former driver Ronnie Dayan, her nephew Jose Adrian Dera, Bucayu’s alleged bagman Wilfredo Ely, and Bilibid inmate and crime boss Saybee Sebstian.
In an advisory sent to reporters before the filing, the VACC said they believed that De Lima is “guilty as hell”.
Based on the Congressional inquiry on the proliferation of illegal drugs at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), Jimenez said that they “decided that we have enough proof against former SoJ Leila de lima…”
He assured that a supplemental complaint will be forthcoming and will include more names in the list of respondents.
The VACC filed before the DOJ a complaint for violation Section 5 (sale) in relation to Section 26(b) (conspiracy to sell) of the Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
