Vice President Leni Robredo is mourning the loss of four soldiers following a deadly encounter with cops in Jolo, Sulu.

The Vice President paid a visit to the wake of the slain soldiers to extend condolences to the grieving families.

“Visited the wake of 3 of the 4 soldiers who died in Sulu the other day – Maj. Marvin Indammog, 39, Capt. Irwin Managuelod, 33, Sgt. Jaime Velasco, 38. The wake of the 4th one, Corporal Abdal Asula, 33, is in Sulu,” she wrote on Facebook.

Robredo sent sympathies over the deaths of the young soldiers, saying it is heartbreaking to listen to the stories of their families.

“All of them are young men who died in the service of the country. It was heartbreaking to hear their stories from their respective families. They had such promising futures ahead of them. My heart goes out to their loved ones and the entire Philippine Army who are all grieving for their loss,” she said.

Robredo said she is grateful to CGPA Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay “for his leadership and for exerting all efforts to ensure that justice will be served.”
