Help reduce corruption, Duterte asks Chinoy traders: Wag kayong matakot!

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday urged the Filipino-Chinese businessmen to help “minimize” corrupt practices in the government.
During the 11th Biennial National Convention and 22nd Founding Anniversary of the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. held in Manila City, Duterte told them to “be assertive” against red tape in government processes.
“I cannot stop corruption, but you can help me minimize it,” he said.
“All that I ask of you is be assertive and do not surrender to the threats and the intimidations that you will encounter while they’re examining your books.”
The chief executive likewise encouraged the business sector to report to him any irregularity in the bureaucracy.
“Yung lahat ng mga BIR, lahat sa Customs, tandaan mo lang ang mukha nila at pag humingi sa inyo, sabihin niyo lang sa akin at pupunta ako doon sa pantalan at ipapasok ko ang mga cargo niyo libre, just report to me in one statement a stupid guy. Wag kayong matakot because I will never also allow you to be harmed,” he added.
