The race is tight among potential vice presidential bets, with only one point separating the frontrunner, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, and Senator Manny Pacquiao and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Results of Pulse Asia’s latest pre-election survey showed Moreno with a voter preference rating of 16%, the highest among potential candidates. He’s followed by Pacquiao and Duterte, who each got 15%.
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. are tied for third place at 11%, while Senator Bong Go is ranked fourth at nine percent.
Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano and Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero are tied at fifth place at seven percent, followed by Public Works Secretary Mark Villar and Senator Sonny Angara, who both got three percent.
Other politikos included in the survey are abogado Chel Diokno, who got a one percent rating, followed by former Tarlac Rep. Gilbert Teodoro, with a rating of .5 percent.
Pulse Asia conducted the survey from February 22 to March 3, 2021 nationwide. Respondents were asked who they will vote for vice president if the elections were held during the polling period.
Moreno has said he’s content at being mayor, while Duterte has thumbed down a presidential run in 2022.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, has been going around the country giving help to Filipinos affected by the pandemic.
