The bible of Philippine politics

Hindi kayo nakakatuwa! Ping puts spotlight on political butterflies on Twitter

Senator-elect Panfilo “Ping” Lacson was probably shaking his head–albeit with no measure of shock–at how the upcoming leadership of president in-waiting Rodrigo Duterte has sent his fellow lawmakers aflutter.

It’s “political butterfly season” again all right, and the three-term senator couldn’t help but underscore this fact over at Twitter on Wednesday (May 25).

“Lakas to NPC to NP to LP to PDP. The faster they left, the faster they’ll leave,” lamented Lacson, 67, a former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief.

PDP or PDP-Laban is the political party of outgoing Davao City Mayor Duterte, who won the 2016 presidential race via landslide.

The past few days, news have been dominated by the switching of allegiances of politikos from their erstwhile party to the “flavor of the month”, PDP-Laban.

Entire parties themselves, like Lakas, NPC and NP have entered in a coalition with Duterte’s party.

Lacson has been an independent politiko for 12 years now.
