Hindi lang Cavs sa NBA: Guess Ping’s fave PBA teams
Senator Panfilo Lacson is rooting for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the National Basketball Association. But he is also a fan of local teams in the Philippine Basketball Association, too.
Lacson, in posts on his Twitter account Sunday, said he used to root for Toyota, and then the team now known as Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
But he also bared that at the time, he could not cheer openly because his neighbor – who happened to own the television set – was rooting for the competition.
“I was rooting for Toyota, then Ginebra. But I couldn’t cheer when my teams were winning because I knew our neighbor who owned the TV set was for the opposite teams. Baka ilipat ang channel or i-turn off ang TV, naloko na,” he said (https://twitter.com/iampinglacson/status/1000616303688802304).
Lacson said that during his youth in Imus, Cavite, he used to watch TV but only from the window of his neighbor’s house.
He said this inspired him to study well so he can earn enough money to buy TV sets for his parents and siblings.
“Habang nakikipanood, ang sabi ko sa sarili ko, mag-aral ng mabuti at magsikap sa buhay para makabili ng TV para na rin sa mga magulang at kapatid ko,” he said (https://twitter.com/iampinglacson/status/1000604391060127744).
