President Rodrigo Duterte is allied with the Marcoses and has at one point revealed that Marcos’ daughter, Sen. Imee Marcos, supported his campaign in 2016, a claim which the latter later denied.
With Duterte’s support, Marcos’ remains were buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on November 18, 2016, despite strong opposition from critics and human rights groups.
