The House of Representatives will be spending about P4.7 million for the fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte later this month.
House acting Secretary-General Roberto “Bobby” Maling said this year’s budget for the President’s annual address to Congress is P200,000 less compared to last year’s P4.9 million.
Maling said there will be no major upgrade in this year’s SONA and will have “usual expenses” similar to last year.
Maling said about 1,500 have been invited to attend Duterte’s SONA on July 22 which include foreign dignitaries, former Presidents, key officials from local government units, members of Congress and the First Family.
Maling added that the preparation committee has just finished its food tasting. The final food menu will be published early next week.
“No menu pa, kasi may food tasting na kakatapos lang varied foods—European, Carribean, and Filipino,” said Maling.
Film and television director Joyce Bernal is the overall in-charge of the production set just like last year.
