I don’t care! Duterte unfazed by lowest satisfaction rating
President Duterte displayed a nonchalant attitude on reports on his net satisfaction getting to a new personal law of +45 from the previous +50.
“Bumaba? I don’t care! Make it 15,” he said in a chance interview by Palace reporters after delivering a speech in Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.
The President, who last Monday expressed desire to step down from office even before his term expires on 2022, said such satisfaction and performance ratings no longer have an appeal to him.
“Wala na ako dyan. It does not interest me at all. Basta ako coast along na lang ako. Since I’m not popular anymore, Congress might decide to find a popular one. You want a popular president? Fine. Good,” he said.
Duterte has suggested to the consultative committee the inclusion of a provision in the proposed draft federal constitution that will call for the election of a transition president the moment the new Charter is approved by the people.
If a referendum is held even before his term expires, Duterte said he would willingly step down to pave for the transition government.
