President Rodrigo Duterte is annoyed by people asking him who will he endorse as his successor in the 2022 presidential elections.
Duterte is not only discouraging her daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, from running in 2022, he also feared he might not even see the end of his term.
“My party mates (do) not talk to me about politics na. Alam na kasi I get peeved. Napipika ako sa kanila, do not talk to me about that because I might not really be around by that time,” said Duterte in an interview with CNN Philippines’ Ina Andolong.
“Wala akong suggestion. This country will continue without me starting it or stopping it. Hindi naman hihinto ang mundo para sa akin,” he added.
Duterte said he does not even know if he would help Sara if she decided to run for a higher post in 2022.
“I don’t know. Yung sabi nilang anak ko si Inday, naawa ako. Anak ko eh. Sabi ko, mamili tayo ng iba na gusto niyo. If you want me there in the game, but not sabi ko sa anak ko,” said Duterte.
“I don’t know. I told her no, do not run. She will not run. Because sabi ko maawa, maawa ako sa iyo. Ano man gawin mo, karaming isipin nitong mga ulul na ito. Walang.. Kala kasi bright sila, and they come up with all sorts of scenarios. Ako ayaw ko. Ibang tao lang. Kasi bababuyin lang niyo anak ko eh,” he added.
