I shall return: Trillanes vows to face sedition case as court orders arrest
Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV has vowed to return to the country to face the conspiracy to commit sedition charge filed against him after a court ordered his arrest Friday (February 14) over the case.
In a statement, Trillanes said he is currently out of the country for a series of engagements.
“But I intend to post bail once I arrive in Manila late next week. I will face this case just as I have faced all the other harassment cases duterte’s minions have filed against me,” he said.
The Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 138 issued an arrest warrant against Trillanes and 10 others over the charge, which stemmed from the “Ang Totoong Narco List” videos. Bail is set at P10,000.
Estafa convict Peter Joemel Advincula, alias Bikoy, accused Trillanes and other members of the opposition of masterminding a destabilization plot against President Rodrigo Duterte by linking him and his family to the illegal drug trade.
The allegations against Duterte were shown in the “Ang Totoong Narco List” video series, which featured a hooded man named Bikoy.
The court court set the arraignment of Trillanes and his co-accused on March 17.
