Imee Marcos not sure of 2022 ambition of Bongbong
Senator Imee Marcos is still clueless on the political ambition of her brother, former Senator Bongbong Marcos in 2022.
She made the remark when asked about Bongbong’s plan in the 2022 national elections. “Hindi ko alam. ‘Di nagpapaalam sa manang (ate niya) ‘yan.”
Bongbong ran for the vice presidency in 2016 but lost to then Rep. Leni Robredo. He filed a protest before the Supreme Court, acting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), questioning Robredo’s victory amid alleged massive poll fraud.
“Alam ko tatakbo siya. Iyung posisyon [na tatakbuhin niya], ‘di ko alam kasi di pa kami nag-uusap. Ang daming kandidato parang stampede to 2022,” she said on Thursday.
“Our consultant is our mom (Rep. Imelda Marcos). She is going to be 91 ganunpaman matinik pa rin ‘yun. Pero at the end of the day kanya kanyang desisyon ‘yan. Wait and see pa rin si Bongbong,” she said.
The senator from Ilocos Norte said that Bongbong is busy with some hobbies. “Luto na lang ng luto. Blog ng blog.”
Asked whether her brother will run for a national position, Imee said, “Di ko pa alam. Marami naman siya kayang gawin. Mahusay sya sa ekonomiya.”
Pressed whether the Marcos family hopes that Bongbong’s protest will yield positive result, Imee said, “Ay talaga.”
Pangangatawanan daw n’ya ‘yan.”
“Kaya tignan natin. Di siya nawawalan ng pag-asa. Ako nga sabi ko hirap ng ginagawa n’ya. Ayaw paawat eh,” she said in a media forum.
