After claiming victory at the House Committee on Justice’s hearing of the impeachment complaint against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, lawyer Lorenzo Gadon now mulls filing criminal charges against the chief magistrate.

Gadon said his camp is now studying filing criminal charges against Sereno after for violating the Constitution and other laws.

“Sinisiguro ko. Yan ay pag-aaralan namin yan at magfa-file kami ng panibagong case,” Gadon said.

He also said the impeachment case would only remove Sereno from the post but would not put her behind bars.

Gadon said earlier in the day that he is sure that Sereno would be impeached after Supreme Court Associate Justice Teresita de Castro testified on the Chief Justice’s re-opening of the Regional Court Administration Office and Sereno’s alleged revision of a temporary restraining order without the knowledge of De Castro.
