In SWS poll, Duterte’s satisfaction rating falls

By Prince Golez

The net satisfaction rating of President Rodrigo Duterte dropped three points in the third quarter of 2019, the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.

The survey, fielded on September 27 to 30, said 78 percent of Filipinos were satisfied with Duterte’s performance. Thirteen percent said they were dissatisfied while nine percent undecided.

Despite the three-point drop, SWS said that Duterte’s +65 net satisfaction rating remains “very good.”

A Pulse Asia survey earlier found Duterte’s approval rating dropped from 85 percent in June to 78 percent in September. His trust rating also went down by 11 percentage points.

The poll was conducted amid the Senate’s investigation into the alleged irregularities in the Bureau of Corrections and the case of the so-called “ninja cops” or police officers who recycle seized illegal drugs.
