It’s no surprise that Manila vice mayor Isko Moreno dreams of becoming city mayor someday but will he run for the post in 2016?
In an interview with showbiz news website Pep.ph, Moreno remained coy about his political plans but said he will certainly run for office in the next elections.
“I will definitely run in 2016. Puwedeng barangay kagawad o barangay chairman. Puwedeng Congress, puwedeng Senate,” he said.
“Puwede ring sa Roxas Boulevard… takbo lang naman, e!” he added in jest.
Moreno said that while he wants to eventually become the mayor of Manila, he is willing to shelve his plans temporarily if incumbent city mayor Joseph Estrada wants to run for reelection.
“Isang term lang naman talaga ang plano ni Erap na bilang punong-lungsod. Sinabi naman niya ‘yon. But the thing is… for what purpose it may serve, kung halimbawang gusto pa niya ulit na mag-mayor, halimbawa lang na gusto pa niyang mag-mayor ulit, ibibigay ko sa kanya for the sake of the city,” he said.
The Manila vice mayor said he does not want to engage in a fight over the mayoralty post because “fighting is tiresome.”
