It ain’t Tol: Lacson clarifies blind item on corrupt senatorial bet
By Marie P Ruiz
Administration Senatorial Candidate Francis Tolentino was not a subject of the “Candidates who will not get my vote” series of Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.
This was relayed to Tagaytay City Mayor Agnes Tolentino by Lacson’s son and Chief of Staff Ronald Jay Lacson.
Many followers of Senator Lacson on Twitter guessed that he was referring to Tolentino in his first “candidates who won’t get my vote in May series.”
“Candidate number one: He trained his eyes on an unspent Php 1.6B calamity fund in a LGU where a family member is a mayor. He asked the person in charge to procure blankets for Php 7,000 each. Actual market price is Php 700 per blanket.
In a letter to Mayor Tolentino, Lacson’s son and Chief of Staff Ronald Jay said
“I wish to relay to you that the Senator does not allude to Senatorial Candidate Tolentino on his tweet, neither does he intend to wrongly impress on the public any malicious issues that may unjustly malign individuals.”
