It’s official! Hernando takes oath as SC justice
Newly appointed Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando took his oath on Thursday (October 11) as the high court’s newest magistrate.
During the rites held at the SC, Hernando took his oath of office before SC Senior Associate Justice Diosdado Peralta.
“The SC welcomes its 180th Member, the Hon. Ramon Paul L. Hernando,” read the SC’s Twitter post.
President Rodrigo Duterte named Hernando to the post on Wednesday (Oct. 11) and took over the seat vacated by Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
Prior his appointment, Hernando served as justice of the Court of Appeals (CA).
He is a fellow law graduate of President Rodrigo Duterte at the San Beda College.
Hernando was also a law professor of Duterte’s daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
