Five persons are vying for the position of Deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao, the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) announced.
In an announcement dated April 16), Supreme Court (SC) Clerk of Court and JBC Ex Officio Secretary Marife Lomibao-Cuevas identified the five candidates as Presidential Management Staff (PMS) Undersecretary Anderson Lo, Davao City Judges Rowena Apao-Adlawan and Mario Duaves, and Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) officials Beda Epres and Maria Iluminada Lapid-Viva.
Cuevas said the applicants are scheduled to undergo a public interview before the JBC this April 28.
The JBC opened applications for the postion as the term of former term of Deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao Rodolfo Elman ended last March 13.
Elman, a law graduate of the Ateneo De Davao University, took his oath of office as deputy ombudsman on March 20, 2014.
