Jojo Binay congratulates Manny Pacquiao on UMak enrollment
Former Vice President Jojo Binay is thrilled that boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao went back to school even after getting a taste of boxing success.
In a Facebook post, Binay congratulated Pacquiao for choosing University of Makati to earn his political science degree. The former veep is currently a professor at the Umak’s law school.
“Congrats Manny! One of our innovative programs in UMak is our Executive Education program which underlies the value of workplace-based learning in education. What started as a way for us to better equip councilors in the fulfilment of their mandate, UMak has now catered to thousands of public and private sector employees who wish to obtain their undergraduate and graduate degrees,” he said.
He said he was very proud that UMak’s programs continue to provide public officials like Pacquiao with the opportunities to enrich their knowledge in governance towards effective dispensation of their duties as elected officials.
“Even when I was Mayor, central to my vision for education was on innovations that will allow for programs to become truly relevant in people’s professional careers,” he said.
“Congrats ulit, Manny! This recent achievement is a testament to your genuine dedication to providing effective service to our nation,” he added.
