Joke lang! Floirendo sends peace offering to Imee after poking fun at hidden wealth

DAVAO CITY – Davao del Norte Second District Rep. Antonio ‘Tony Boy’ Floirendo has sent a peace offering to senatorial bet Imee Marcos a day after he poked fun at her hidden wealth.
In an interview on Tuesday, Floirendo said he already told Marcos he was only joking when he told the press that he will not support her senatorial bid. He earlier claimed the Ilocos Norte Governor was allegedly forcing him to cough up funds to finance her campaign in Davao Region despite having plenty of hidden riches.
The Davao del Norte solon stressed that he texted Marcos about the supposed incident and extended an olive branch.
Floirendo is a close friend of Marcos’ brother, defeated vice-presidential candidate and former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
The Marcos mansion at 2442 Makiki Heights Drive in Honolulu, Hawaii, wherein the Ilocos Norte Governor’s late father, former President Ferdinand Marcos spent the last years of his life in exile after his ouster in 1986, was registered under the name of Floirendo’s late father, Antonio Floirendo Sr.
The Floirendo patriarch was among a group of close associates of the late strongman referred as “Marcos cronies.”
The elder Floirendo was able to acquire the 6000-hectare banana plantation in Panabo, Davao del Norte, Philippines, earning him the monicker of “banana king” during the Marcos regime.
