Joy Belmonte says enemies plotting ‘Operation One-Term’ against her
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has bared a plot by her supposed enemies to prevent her from winning a second term in office.
“My enemies are working double time now on Operation One-Term. All I can say is…I must be doing something right,” she wrote on Facebook.
Belmonte, on her first term as mayor of Quezon City previously complained about the hate campaign allegedly launched by her rivals on social media. She said she has been falsely accused of corruption over a road project.
“Last Sunday I was the victim of an organised hate campaign orchestrated by my enemies via social media in which i was accused of making money/corruption by destroying an unbroken road so as to build it again,” she said in a Facebook post last August 28.
“It turns out the road is a project of the DPWH thru the efforts of Cong Alfred Vargas because trucks pass through it and the current thickness of the road at 9 inches, is not enough to withstand the weight of trucks that use it. Hence the thickness of the road has to be adjusted to 12 inches. The video taken by a concerned citizen only showed the fixed part of the road but the DPWH yesterday showed me many parts that were already broken,” she said.
