President Rodrigo Duterte will administer the oath-taking of Davao City Rep. Karlo Alexei Nograles as Cabinet Secretary tomorrow, November 5.

“Rep. Karlo Nograles is the next Cabinet Secretary. He will take his oath at 3 p.m on Monday,” a report in Manila Times said.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said on October 30 that Nograles was being eyed to replace Leoncio Evasco Jr., who resigned from his post to run for Bohol governor in the May 2019 midterm elections.

“He is one of those being considered. I’ve heard of him as one of those leading nominees,” Panelo told reporters.

Nograles is currently serving in his third term in the House of Representatives.

Other Cabinet members who will run for public office next year include former Department of Foreign Affairs Alan Peter Cayetano, former Technical Education and Skills Development Authority chief Guiling Mamondiong, former Bureau of Corrections chief Ronaldo “Bato” dela Rosa, former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr., former presidential adviser Francis Tolentino, and former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go.
