Kaya nga ‘Frank Sinatra’ eh! Panelo to doubters of Duterte’s health: Kung may sinat, ‘di na ba pwede kumanta?
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo brushed off doubters of President Rodrigo Duterte’s health after he skipped the military change of command ceremony after partying on back-to-back nights where he also sang.
Duterte begged off from attending the formal appointment of Armed Forces Chief of Staff Chief of Staff Noel Clement on Tuesday after attending the baptism of the daughter of Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco on Sunday and surprise birthday party of Panelo on Monday.
Duterte crooned in both gigs of Velasco and Panelo. Panela was adamant that the 74-year old Duterte was not feigning sickness when he snubbed Clement’s shining hour.
“Bakit? Gusto mong sabihin kung mayroon kang sinat ay hindi ka na makakakanta? Eh kung nangyari iyong pagkanta bago sininat eh, ano ba namang problema doon?” said Panelo in a briefing.
“Alam ninyo, the President is a normal person kagaya nating lahat. Mayroong mga oras na masama ang pakiramdam natin, kung minsan masakit ang ulo natin, kung minsan sinisinat tayo. Nangyayari sa lahat ng tao iyan. You don’t have to be President to be like that. Kung nagkataon lang, walang dapat na ikabahala ang taumbayan. Eh nakita ninyo kahapon, ang lakas-lakas niya na naman,” he added.
Duterte normally sings during public events and even United States President Donald Trump was impressed with the latter calling him “Frank Sinatra.’
