Kayo na hindi marunong magnakaw! Chiz rips off Mar

Looks like “Galing at Puso” vice presidential bet Senator Chiz Escudero ran out of
originality during the first few minutes of the vice presidential debate at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Sunday, April 10.

Escudero blatantly ripped off Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer Mar Roxas’ campaign catchphrase against corruption during his opening speech–complete with the same intonation.

“Ako’y nangangako na hindi ako magnanakaw,” said Escudero, husband of actress Heart Evangelista.

“Dahil hindi ako pinanganak na magnanakaw at hindi ako pinalaki ng mga magulang ko na magnakaw,” added the running mate of Senator Grace Poe.

Each of the five vice presidential contestants were given a minute and 45 seconds to deliver their opening salvo, which was a response to the general question “what can you bring to the vice presidency?”

Chiz appeared ready to wrap up and was running out of words at the minute mark, but managed to fill up his time thanks to some inspired words from Roxas. (Samantha A. Giron)
