Kiko Pangilinan says reminder for Robredo to keep secrets unnecessary: Alam na niya ‘yan!
Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan sees no need for Vice President Leni Robredo to be reminded about the need to keep quiet about confidential information related to the drug war.
Pangilinan, president of the Liberal Party, made the statement Monday (November 18) after President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to fire Robredo as co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) if she shares information that may put national security at risk.
“Sinabi naman ni VP na hindi maaring isiwalat kung ano ang confidential. Sa palagay ko hindi na sya kelangan pagsabihan pa,” he told reporters at the Senate.
Robredo has asked the Philippine National Police for the list of high-profile targets in the drug war. The police, however, said it will heed the decision of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on the matter.
Pangilinan said the Department of Interior and Local Government, which oversees the PNP, should not have qualms about sharing confidential information with Robredo.
“Kung gusto nila magkaroon ng maayos na tulungan, pati information, they should be able to share it,” he said.
