Kinapalan ang mukha! Aquino-era Cabinet Secretary tried to bribe Duterte with P25M to keep post- report
A Cabinet Secretary who served under former President Benigno Aquino III tried to bribe President Rodrigo Duterte with P25 million to remain in office, according to a report published on the tabloid Abante on February 13.
Citing a trusted source close to Malacañang, radio broadcaster Ely Saludar said the former Cabinet Secretary handed a P25-million check to Duterte after the 2016 elections.
Saludar said it was only recently that Duterte realized why the former Cabinet Secretary wanted to remain in power: because the agency he/she was in is involved in a multibillion-peso controversy.
The President is reportedly biding his time to reveal the former Cabinet official who tried to bribe him. He is supposedly planning to show the check given to him as evidence.
As for a clue on the former Cabinet official’s identity, Saludar said his/her name has a letter G in it.
