Korina explains Duterte’s aversion to COA, CHR: Ayaw niyang may bantay!
Broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez has a simple explanation on why President Rodrigo Duterte is hating on the Commission on Audit and Commission on Human Rights.
The wife of former Senator Mar Roxas said Duterte viewed these watchdogs as obstacles.
Sanchez said this was the same reason why Duterte abhorred any opposition to his legislative agenda in Congress – he does not want people stopping him from what he wants to do.
Sanchez said the problem with Duterte, if he was allowed to “kidnap and torture” COA officials or snuff out human rights advocates, was who would stop him from committing abuses in his drug war or enabling corruption in his administration.
