Lacson to Duterte: Give 3 police generals linked to drugs a chance to defend themselves

Senator-elect Panfilo Lacson cautioned incoming President Rody Duterte against humiliating three police generals linked to corruption and illegal drugs.

It can be recalled that Lacson also figured in a controversy generated by the accusations by former agent Mary Ong, also known as Rosebud, and then former Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces (ISAFP) chief, now retired Gen. Victor Corpus.

Lacson, who was chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the term of former president Joseph Estrada, said he does not want the police generals to suffer the same fate as his, especially of the allegations are baseless.

“Kawawa naman ang mga police officials na ipapahiya at masisira ang pangalan, sampu ng kanilang mga pamilya, or worse, maari pang mapatay ng mga taong may sarili at masamang agenda in order to please or ingratiate themselves sa Pangulo ng bansa. I tell you, I can speak from experience,” Lacson added.
