Lacson reminds lawmakers about self-respect

Lawmakers have been given a friendly reminder about having self-respect amid a leadership row in the House of Representatives.

Senator Panfilo Lacson said people look up to duly-elected representatives in Congress, so they must not allow themselves to be used or mistreated by others.

“We were voted into office by an electorate that should continue looking up to us to represent them in Congress,” the former police chief tweeted.

“Self-respect is something that we must not allow to go lower than the soles of our feet. They might just step or spit on it,” he added.
