Laglagan sa Solid North! Imee ditches 6 administration bets in Ilocos Norte

DAVAO CITY – Incumbent Ilocos Norte Governor and senatorial candidate Imee Marcos has reportedly dumped six fellow administration senatorial candidates in May 13 elections.
A reliable source on Friday gave Politiko a copy of the sample ballot showing only six candidates of the 12-man administration slate, that was reportedly distributed by the Marcos’ camp in the second district of Ilocos Norte.
The list includes Marcos, former Special Assistant to President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, former Presidential Political Adviser Francis Tolentino, former Philippine National Police (PNP) Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, and reelectionist Senators Cynthia Villar and Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito.
Other administration senatorial candidates including Deputy Speaker Pia Cayetano, a party mate of Marcos in the Nacionalista Party (NP), were not included in the alleged sample ballot.
The Politiko first reported last Maundy Thursday that the Marcos has been courting local and provincial chief executives in the northern part of the country to be their lone senatorial candidate in the upcoming midterm polls.
The daughter of the late dictator and former President Ferdinand Marcos earlier was reportedly rooting for a “single vote” victory in the so-called Solid North bailiwick.
Gov. Marcos is reportedly not pleased with the recent pre-election surveys, wherein she was ranked between 9th to 15th based on the data gathered last March and April by various pollsters despite being endorsed both by President Rodrigo Duterte and her daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
