On the celeberation of Independence Day, Vice President Leni Robredo called on Filipinos Wednesday (June 12) to work towards ensuring equal opportunities for everyone.

In a statement, Robredo said it is every Filipino’s duty to ensure their countrymen live in a society where they are capable of achieving progress.

Robredo said she is hopeful that Independence Day will inspire Filipinos to reflect on how unity helped the country’s heroes achieve freedom.

Robredo led the commemoration of Independence Day at Rizal Park at 8 a.m. She took part in the flag raising ceremony and laid a wreath at the monument of Jose Rizal.
