Lani Mercado to bashers: Don’t be mean! Show respect in social media
After drawing a deluge of criticisms against her husband Senator Bong Revilla, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla has appealed for respect and good manners in social media.
“You don’t have to be mean just to get attention. People are more appreciated when they show respect and GMRC even in social media. ,” Revilla tweeted.
Revilla’s tweet drew many comments from Twitter users, mainly calling her husband a thief and demanding a return of the loot to the nation’s coffers.
In December 2018, the Sandiganbayan acquitted Revilla of plunder over his involvement in the multi-billion pork barrel scam but it ordered the return of P124.5 million to the National Treasury.
You don’t have to be mean just to get attention. People are more appreciated when they show respect and GMRC even in social media. ❤️👍🏼— Lani Mercado Revilla (@lanimrevilla) May 25, 2019
Please ask your husband to return the money. Please, ma’am? It will be most highly appreciated! And do remind him not to do it again? 😊 GMRC— peachy natividad (@peachynatividad) May 26, 2019
Dear Mrs. Revilla, part of Good Manners and Right Conduct is returning what is not rightfully yours (remember how the court ordered your husband to return P124.5M?). When you’ve done that, you’re welcome to tweet again about GMRC.— Wenggee (@WanderlustWeng) May 25, 2019
