Laway lang! Bikoy yet to back up claims vs. LP- DOJ
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Peter Joemel Advincula alias Bikoy has yet to substantiate his claims that the opposition were behind the viral videos “Ang Totoong Narcolist.”
“We note that at this time he has not submitted any statement under oath, much less any evidence, to support his allegations, either before the PNP (Philippine National Police) or the prosecutor’s office or any other investigative body,” Guevarra said.
Last May 6, Advincula held a press conference where he revealed he is the hooded Bikoy in the viral videos which accused a number of personalities including family members of President Rodrigo Duterte as being involved in the narcotics trade.
However, Advincula re-surfaced last May 23 during a press conference of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to declare that the viral videos were all lies.
Advincula claimed that he was approached by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and members of the Liberal Party to fabricate the accusations.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) did not immediately accept his claims and instead urged him to substantiate his allegations.
Guevarra said Advincula could be placed under the Witness Protection Program (WPP) should his claims have been substantiated.
“His eligibility will be subject to a careful evaluation by the DOJ,” he said.
