Leni as wingwoman? LP to announce VP, Senate slate Sept. 30

Has Rep. Leni Robredo finally accepted to become the running-mate of administration standard bearer, Sec. Manuel Roxas II?

The guessing game will end on Sept. 30,2015 once the Liberal Party announces its VP bet and 12-man senatorial slate during their national executive meeting at the Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan.

LP party vice-chairman, Senate President Franklin Drilon, admitted though that Roxas is still convincing Robredo to run for higher post.

” Patuloy po ang paguusap ni Secretary Mar at ni Congresswoman Leni, kasama si Pangulong Aquino. I understand that by September 30 malalaman namin kung ano h napagdesisyunan nila,” Drilon said.

The LP executive added that he has no idea between the reported meeting between President Aquino and Sen. Alan Cayetano, who is salivating to become vice-president.

“Sa pagkakaalam ko, pinaguusapan ni Secretary Mar at ni Pangulong Aquino si Congresswoman Leni Robredo. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang pinagusapan ng Pangulo at ni Senator Alan Peter, although he has been one of those considered from my point of view as viable,” Drilon said.

Drilon, who was interviewed at DOH Inactivated Polio Vaccine Launch in Dumaguete City, added they are now trimming the senatorial list from 15 to 12.

According to Drilon, Ralph Recto and Teofisto Guingona III and himself are on the LP slate.

Justice Sec. Leila de Lima, and Sec. Francis Pangilinan are also part of the administration slate. Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao has been invited to run under the administration slate but nothing has been finalized, Drilon said.

“Iyan po ang ilan sa aming pinaguusapan na kasama sa slate at patuloy po ang aming pag-uusap. Kung hindi makumpleto kaagad by September 30 we will complete it by the time for the deadline for the filing,” the senator said.
