Senator Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian gave this simple advise to concerned personnel of the Presidential Communication Operations Office (PCOO) if they are unsure of some details–like names–in coming up with their press releases.
“I think over the last seven days, may mga ilang mga blunders na nangyayari sa PCOO,” he said on Monday.
He made the remark in reaction to PCOO’s latest “blunder” wherein it identified him in one of its press releases as “Winston.”
“Ang PCOO kasi hindi ordinaryong communication office, this is the Presidential Communication Office so mabigat ang kanyang titulo at responsibilidad,” he said.
He stressed that a very fundamental element of the PCOO is “accuracy.”
“It very important na accurate ang kanilang information at mga pangalang lumalabas,” he said.
“Ngayon, with the help of the internet ay mabilis namang mag-research kung hindi mo matandaan ang pangalan ng tao,” he said.
“P’wede mong i-Google eh,” Gatchalian said in a chance interview.
He added, “But then again, the more they will have blunders, the more their credibility will be affected and nakita ko naman ang mga blunders recently ay staff work ito eh.”
“I don’t think si Secretary (Martin) Andanar (PCOO head) had anything to do with it kasi strategic ang role niya,” he said.
